Catherine Ford is a British actress who was born in Bloomsbury. Following the time her father's divorce from her family members, she was grew up by her mother godparents and grandmother. When she was a young girl she was suffering from an obsessive compulsive disorder that caused anxiety due to the word association. Ford was attracted to acting in her teens, she joined the National Youth Theatre. She had been accepted to Sylvia Young Theatre School. But after just a few days, she concluded that Sylvia Young Theatre School was not the right place for her. Ford instead applied to the Central School of Speech and Drama and was able to secure an acceptance on her fourth application. One of her classmates were Shaun Dingwall, who would later have a recurring role in the role of Pete Tyler in Doctor Who. Ford completed her degree in 1993 however, by that time, she had already made her TV debut on a 1991 episode from Surgical Spirit; she adopted the professional name "Catherine Tate". Tate made her television debut in 1991and appeared on shows like The Bill. Men Behaving Badly. and London's Burning. Tate was also a regular performer in the theatre, and later joined The Royal Shakespeare Company during its season between 2000 and 2001. Tate became famous for her stand-up comedy, that were added to Tate's selection in the year 1996.
