Awkwafina
Awkwafina is an American performer and actress, started with a series of ribbing quips about racial identities and sexuality. In the years before she stepped into Hollywood her music, she came out with an album of rap songs. Nora Lum was born to Chinese Koreans living in Forest Hills Queens. Her first encounter with music was via the trumpet. Classical, jazz and hip-hop education began when she was in her teens. While in college, she remained focused in her studies, pursuing a degree in both journalism and women's issues. In a short period during which she lived in Beijing as well, she was also studying Mandarin. Her focus was not on music until after she graduated. After becoming famous through the Internet and her own song My Vag was a reaction to the song of Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually made its way onto her album debut Yellow Ranger. This album also featured hit songs with viral appeal, like the body positive Queef or winking hometown tour NYC Bitche$. The latter track was associated with Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide for 2015, which was a travel guide. The singer decided to pursue acting career following her completion of two ventures as a musician and author. Along with early series like Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in film projects like Neighbors and Storks. In 2018, she landed a number of breakthrough roles, such as Dude Ocean's 8 or Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released by"At Fina We Trust in June of that year.
